One thing I learned when I was at college was that every college student needed a list of sandwich ideas for lunch. These ideas should be easy to execute and you should have your meal ready in a matter of minutes. You just can’t start making slow pot meals at college. This will also apply to folks who stay alone or others who just can’t handle making meals for hours.
Everyone needs ideas for lunch that are not complicated. Today, we shall look at very easy sandwich ideas for lunch and wrap ideas for lunch. Again, I don’t need to mention again that these ideas literally carried me through college.Â
So please treat these ideas with the same love that I gave them.Â
Sliced bread and salami (Sandwich Ideas For Lunch)
Chicken wrap
Oh my, my stomach probably complained at the number of times I made this meal. This meal is so cheap that I always completed a week with a lot of money saved up from my college upkeep.
Firstly, the idea is that it is simply sliced bread with salami. You can use polony or salami according to your preference. Simply get sliced bread, spread the bread with good quality mayonnaise, and go wild on the ingredients. Here you are free to put whatever you like. I used to put shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, finely chopped onions, and slices of American cheese.Â
Then you can cover all this with one or two slices of bread and put them in your sandwich maker to try and melt the cheese.Â
This meal is heavenly. You have to try it right now.
Soft tortilla and shredded grilled chicken breast
Chicken wrap
This was also one of my favorites at college. All my friends loved eating it and they even suggested I start a business selling these wraps.Â
The idea is to grill chicken breast on a non-stick frying pan or a grill pan. Of course, you have to marinate your chicken breast with some black pepper, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder prior to grilling.
Then shred the chicken breast with a fork and knife and set it aside.
I would make the flour tortillas ahead of time for this process. I always preferred making my own tortillas because they tasted better than the store-bought ones.Â
After grilling and shredding the chicken breast, all you have to do is to thinly chop some tomatoes, onions, and fresh coriander leaves.Â
Then get your tortilla, spread a little mayonnaise on it, and add the chopped veggies and shredded iceberg lettuce. Also, add the shredded chicken breast and serve with hot and sweet sauce.Â
You can actually grill the chicken ahead of time too and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days. If you want a quick lunch you just throw the chicken in the microwave oven and heat it up. Then add the rest of the ingredients as suggested above.Â
Such kinds of wrap ideas for lunch are very helpful when you don’t have the time to cook slower meals.Â
