Ingredients
- 4 steaks of Top Sirloin
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Garlic Herb Butter
- 1 stick of melted butter
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, dill, or chives, plus more for garnish)
- 1 pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
Heat a big cast-iron skillet or heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat for at least 3 minutes, or until it begins to smoke.
Using a paper towel, pat each steak dry. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Toss the meat into the pan with olive oil. 3 minutes on each side, sear the meat. Wait until the first side has browned before flipping. (Cook for 5 minutes on each side for medium; 5 minutes on each side for well-done.)
Remove the steak from the heat and set it aside to rest for at least 5 minutes. Then serve with a spoonful of garlic butter on top.
To make Garlic Herb Butter:
- In a small bowl, gradually combine all of the ingredients for the butter while the steak is cooking.

- 4 New York strip steaks
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 teaspoon each of grated garlic, ginger, kosher salt, and rice vinegar
Instructions:
Whisk together miso, water, garlic, ginger, salt, and vinegar in a small mixing dish.
Then rub approximately a spoonful of the marinade into each steak, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
Meanwhile, preheat the grill to medium-high temperature. Grill steaks for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium-rare. Before serving, let the steaks rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
