Indian Chapati Recipe is enjoyed in Asia and parts of Africa, especially East Africa. It is a very easy Indian flatbread to make. This Indian flatbread can be served with a nice curry or you could use it as a wrap and fill it with whatever you want. The words chapati and roti are almost used to mean the same thing but they’re different. Roti can contain both whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour while chapati only contains whole wheat flour.Â
Chapati Ingredients
1 cup of water
2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 ½ teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of ghee or oil
Chapati Procedure
Make sure you don’t use hot water or very cold water. The right temperature should be right in the middle. It should be warm water that allows you to put your finger in without getting burned.Â
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and knead the dough for about 13 minutes.
If you are going to eat the chapati right away you can continue with the recipe.Â
However, if you want to keep the dough to use later, it is also possible if you cover the bowl with cling film. Store the dough in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Get out your non-stick frying pan and preheat it on medium heat on your stove.Â
Divide the dough into 6 to 8 pieces depending on the size of the chapati you prefer.Â
It’s now time to roll your chapati. Pour a little flour on your rolling surface and roll the chapati using a rolling pin or glass soda bottle until it forms a nice flat and round shape.Â
After rolling the chapati, it’s time to cook.
Put one chapati on your preheated non-stick frying pan. Heat the chapati for about 1 minute and then turn to the other side and also heat it for one minute.Â
Do this for all the pieces.
After cooking, keep the chapati on a tray and cover it with a cloth until you are ready to serve.Â

Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
