- 450 grams beef meatloaf mix (but you can use beef or pork),
- 1 egg,
- ½ cup bread crumbs,
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese,
- 3 yellow onions,
- salt to taste,
- 200grms streaky bacon,
- ½ cup BBQ sauce and then,
- Scallions or chives for garnish
Instructions for Ingredients for Onion Meat Ball Bomb bbq finger food ideas
Firstly, combine the meat, egg, crumbs, cheese, and salt in a mixing bowl.
Secondly, cut the onion in half and peel off the skin after removing the top and bottom.
The onion should next be separated into layers. Then take a tiny amount of the meatloaf mixture and place it within one of the onion layers. Gently press another layer on top of the mixture. You’re encasing your huge meatball in an onion seal.
Carry on with the rest. Wrap each “bomb” with three pieces of streaky bacon and attach them with toothpicks. I made four, but the amount depends on the size of the onion.
Preheat the oven to 425°F and bake in a dish with sides (to catch oil) for about 40 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Bake for an additional 5 minutes after adding the BBQ sauce all over. Serve with chives or onions on top.
