When using canned pineapple, ensure you drain all the liquid in them.

If you want to spice up your salad feel free to add in fruits like sliced grapes, sliced bananas, strawberries, kiwi, mangoes, diced apples, and many others.

In this recipe, we are to use ingredients like; 1 cup of cool whip, ½ cup of sour cream, ⅓ cup of pistachio pudding mix, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 cups of mini marshmallows, 1 ½ cup of maraschino cherries, 1 cup of shredded coconut, 1 cup of pecans, a can of mandarin oranges and 2 cups of fresh pineapple chunks.

• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

• 1 ½ cup of maraschino cherries, cut in half 
• 1 cup of shredded coconut
• 1 cup of pecans, chopped
• 15-ounce can of mandarin oranges, drained
• 2 cups of fresh pineapple chunks

1. Firstly, in a large bowl,  whisk together to combine add the sour cream, pistachio pudding mix, and vanilla extract until well combined.
2. Secondly, gently fold in the cool whip and gently mix until well incorporated.
3. Thirdly, add in the mini marshmallows, maraschino cherries, shredded coconut, mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, and pecans.
4. Gently stir until well blended.
5. Cover and chill the ambrosia salad with cool whip for 1 hour before serving.
6. Garnish will a few cherries if desired.
